Israel envoy shares Indian song with ‘uncanny resemblance’ to Israeli national anthem

Israel Ambassador to India Noar Gilon stumbled upon this Indian patriotic song and it “deeply touched” him. Firstly, he was taken aback by the song’s uncanny resemblance to Israel’s national anthem Hatikvah. Secondly, he was “moved” by the lyrics of the song. Now, you must be wondering which song the Israel Ambassador is talking about. Well, it is none other than ‘Mera Mulk Mera Desh’, a song from the film ‘Diljale’.

“Today I discovered a beautiful Indian patriotic melody that deeply touched me. I couldn’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance to Israel’s national anthem, ‘Hatikvah,’ in the harmonious notes and cadence. Yet, it was the lyrics, ‘Mera desh mera mulk mera ye watan, shanti ka unnati ka pyaar ka chaman,’ that resonated in my heart like a beacon of hope and unity,” the Israeli Ambassador wrote.
