New Zealand’s captain, Kane Williamson, who is currently in India for the 2023 World Cup, recently shared a lighthearted moment with former WWE wrestler The Great Khali. Unfortunately, Williamson’s World Cup journey hit a roadblock as he sustained a fractured thumb during a match against Bangladesh. Despite his injury, he displayed his sense of humour in an amusing Instagram post featuring Dalip Singh Rana, famously known as The Great Khali.
In the picture, the 33-year-old Kiwi batsman can be seen sharing a firm handshake with the former wrestling star. Williamson added a playful caption to the photo, saying, “When I really fractured my thumb. Na, but seriously, that’s one strong handshake! Pleasure to meet @thegreatkhali!”
Williamson posted the image just a day ago, and it has already garnered over 422,872 likes, with internet users leaving a variety of reactions in the comments.
One user affectionately remarked, “How cute,” while another praised Williamson for his ability to find humour even in difficult situations, saying, “Kaneee, this is why we love you so much. You manage to find humour and smile in the most challenging moments. India loves you.”

Regrettably, Williamson’s return to international cricket after more than six months was marred by injuries. He had recently recovered from an ACL injury sustained during the IPL in March. However, in the World Cup match against Bangladesh, he suffered a thumb injury, forcing him to miss the next three matches, including the game against India.
