Between the years 2000 and 2006, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, took on the role of a product reviewer on his own e-commerce platform. During this period, the tech mogul penned reviews for six different products. Recently, one of these old reviews has resurfaced on the internet, catching the attention of SpaceX and Tesla Chief, Elon Musk.
In 2006, Bezos reviewed a bottle of Tuscan Dairy Whole Vitamin D Milk. His review read, “I have been an avid milk drinker since my birth. However, I am not certain if it was Tuscan.” This review was shared on the microblogging platform X by a user named Trung Phan. He captioned the post, “Jeff Bezos has 9 product reviews on Amazon…including this gem on a jug of Tuscan milk.” Musk responded to the post with a laughing face emoji.
This humorous review garnered numerous reactions on social media. One user commented, “Legend. Oatly would pay him a lot of money to switch over lol.
“You could buy milk on Amazon in 2006?” Another user admired Bezos’s decision to stop writing reviews but leaving his milk review up, stating, “Keep looking forward, never look back,” another user said.
According to Amazon, Bezos’s earliest review dates back to March 17, 2000, for the 1997 Academy Award-winning movie ‘Life is Beautiful.’ He gave the Italian film a five-star rating and praised it for being “hysterically funny and simultaneously a tear jerker — it’s ultimately very uplifting.” He also commended the cinematography and recommended watching the film with subtitles to appreciate Roberto Benigni’s acting and passion.
